The use of animated buttons, or even arrows to point in the direction of where you want them to take their action, all of these can have a positive impact on increasing the number of people who opt in to your mailing list. That said, it is worth being careful as not to be too creative, and serving more as an annoyance to your visitors. Too many animations can in fact discourage subscriber growth.

Use An Effective Call To Action

As humans, we like to know what to do next. As such, if you have an opt in form on your page, not many people are going to enter their details in, if they don't know what they should be doing next. Consider using a call to action that tells them to opt in so that they can receive their free white paper or bonus. In many cases, simply telling people what to do next can have a massive impact on the number of opt ins that you receive.

There are many more creative methods for increasing your opt in's such as javascript pop-ups, at the end of the day however, it is all a matter of testing new methods, finding what works, identifying what doesn't work, and running with what works best.
